Location and parking

The bowling green address is: Alexandra Recreation Ground, Alexandra Road, Epsom, Surrey, KT17 4BU. The map below shows the bowling green in the north-west corner of the Recreation Ground. Car parks are marked “P” in light blue.

The Green can be reached from the main entrance to the Recreation Ground at the junction of Alexandra Road (the A2022) and Bridge Road (the B288). Bear left for the Green; the changing rooms are in the pavilion, shown in dark blue (main entrance and bear right). But there is no parking at this entrance unless you have a disabled badge.

The official car park (limited space) is at another entrance, next to the pedestrian crossing in Alexandra Road, 250 yards south-east of the main entrance. A footpath (left from the end of the car park) takes you direct to the pavilion and green. Ignore the other pavilion near this car park.

Other parking areas are:
(a) on the roadside in Windmill Lane alongside the tennis courts;
(b) a public car park further down the Upper High Street, just past Pikes Hill on the edge of the map. This is also convenient for the Barley Mow Public House, via a gateway at the bottom left-hand corner of the car park. Charges apply here (pay and display) even in the evening.
(c) at evenings and weekends only (not Saturday morning), it may be possible to use the car park of the Old Cottage Hospital on the other side of Alexandra Road, marked Health Centre on the map.
